bubble tea fad - health + environmental hazard

i really hate this bubble tea craze we are seeing now.

not only an over-priced junk, it's also detrimental to the environment.

here's how much junk from one section of the street in ss15, subang jaya, where 9 (at last count) bubble tea shops have popped up like mushrooms after rain.

photo is from facebook/zero waste group.

use once, discard it, then take 100 years to decompose.

to make matters worse, many of these vendors do not allow you to use your own cup/tumbler. reason being?

branding purpose. so that others could see you are trendy and drinking their current hipster over-priced sugary crap.

and this crap has as much sugar as soft drink.

health hazard + environmental hazard all in one neat package.
